Overview

The agricultural sales technician diploma (DUT) trains professionals who can advise on and sell seeds, fertilisers, crop protection products, animal feed, veterinary products and farm equipment. Students gain a solid technical grounding in crop and livestock production, along with sales, negotiation and business management skills.

The program prepares students to work closely with farmers, in distribution companies, cooperatives and the food industry.

Objectives

  • Manage a sales outlet or a customer portfolio.

  • Present a product and its safe conditions of use.

  • Manage stock, orders and logistics.
  • Follow up a portfolio of farmer customers.

Curriculum

First year (S1-S2): basics of crop and livestock production, farm inputs, general economics, business mathematics, accounting, computing.

Second year (S3-S4): sales and negotiation techniques, agricultural marketing, input regulations, sales and logistics management, entrepreneurship, company internship.
